Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity
I'm committed to the letter and the spirit of U.S. policy for equal housing opportunity throughout the nation.
The law
The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing because of race, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), national origin, familial status or disability. Louisiana law provides additional protections. I do not discriminate on any of these bases, and I will not accept instructions from a client to do so.
How this shapes the way I work
- I describe places — housing types, amenities, drive times, what's nearby — not the people who live there.
- I won't steer you toward or away from an area based on a protected characteristic, including in answer to questions about who lives in a neighborhood.
- For questions about schools, crime statistics or demographics, I'll point you to official sources such as the school district, the Louisiana Department of Education and local law enforcement crime data, so you can evaluate them yourself.
- Every buyer and seller gets the same service, information and effort.
If you believe you've experienced discrimination
You can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at hud.gov/fairhousing, or contact the Louisiana Real Estate Commission regarding a licensee.
Equal Housing Opportunity.
