I'm Jay LaRose, a REALTOR® with The W Group Real Estate, based in Prairieville, Louisiana. I help people buy, sell and relocate throughout the Greater Baton Rouge area, Greater New Orleans and the South Louisiana communities in between.
Why I started Moving to Baton Rouge with Jay LaRose
Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions people make, and too often they make it off a few listing photos. So I started filming. On my YouTube channel, Moving to Baton Rouge with Jay LaRose, I tour homes, new-construction communities and neighborhoods across the area. You can see the layout, the street and the drive before you ever book a showing.
Relocating families use the videos to narrow their search from out of state. Local buyers use them to compare neighborhoods. Sellers see exactly how I'd market their home.
This is home for me, so I started filming it. Homes, neighborhoods, new construction, the things you only know if you live here. My hope is that you find what you're looking for — and that when you're ready, you give me a shot at earning your business.
How I work
- Straight answers. If a home has a flood-zone, roof or pricing concern, you'll hear it from me first.
- Hands-on from contract to close. Inspections, appraisals, repair negotiations and the closing table.
- Local research. Before you write an offer, I'll pull the comparable sales, the FEMA flood zone and the tax history.
- Seller marketing built for today's buyers. Professional photos, video tours and real online exposure — not just a sign in the yard.
Who I help
First-time buyers, move-up buyers, relocating families, veterans using VA loans, new-construction buyers, luxury buyers and sellers, and homeowners who are just starting to think about selling. If you're six months out and only gathering information, that's fine too — a lot of my clients start there.
Areas I serve
Prairieville is home base. I work throughout Ascension, East Baton Rouge and Livingston parishes, including Baton Rouge, St. Amant, Gonzales, Dutchtown, Geismar, St. George, Denham Springs, Walker, Zachary and Plaquemine, plus the Greater New Orleans area and the Lafourche and Iberville Parish communities. Outside of real estate
I'm married, and two of my sons serve in the United States Marine Corps — something I'm prouder of than anything on my résumé. At home we've got three boys and a girl, and most of our week runs on their schedules: flag football, volleyball, baseball, soccer, and Flip on Wednesday nights.
Our faith is the center of it. We're part of Fellowship Church of Ascension Parish, we host a small group at our house, I'm in a couple of men's groups and my wife has her women's group. She's a wedding painter, so some Saturday nights we're in New Orleans; the rest of the time you'll find us at home cooking and hanging out.
I've lived in South Louisiana my whole life. We don't top many national rankings, but I've never met people more genuine than the ones here. That's why we stay, and it's a big part of why I like helping people find their place in it.
